2012 Vintage: "A deliciously rich blend of Zinfandel, Merlot, and Petite Sirah, our Red Velvet is made up of grapes from some of the finest vineyards in California. This wine shows a heady nose of chocolate, deep rich blackberries, red fruits, and a creamy mocha finish that is unmistakable in its intensity and length. It's reminiscent of a blackberry chocolate cupcake with a mocha coulis. Enjoy with sweet and spicy Hoison steak, a barbeque bacon cheeseburger or even dark chocolate fondue.

Each varietal adds distinct characteristics that lends structure, aroma and depth of flavor. Specifically, the Zinfandel lends ripe red fruit and jammy strawberry, the Merlot contributes blueberry compote with hints of chocolate, lending silky tannins while the Petite Sirah is the backbone, enhancing the color and texture of the wine. We ferment each varietal separately before blending. Finally we age the entire blend on a unique oak regime which builds the texture and contributes to the delicious creaminess." -Winemaker
