Villa Pozzi Nero d'Avola 2016Our Nero d'Avola is macerated for 15 days to ensure full body and complexity. It is finished in stainless steel instead of oak, which lets the fresh fruit character of Sicily's native Nero d'Avola grape shine through. This wine reveals aromas of blackberry, white flowers, vanilla, and a hint of figs. On the palate, it is opulent and full bodied with a great intensity. Our Nero d'Avola has a DOC designation, one of Italy's highest classifications for quality. Food Pairing: This unique wine can be enjoyed on its own or as a complement to rich pastas and grilled meats.
Casas Patronales Carmenere 2016These wines have a powerful, fruity expression that reveals each variety without embellishment, unveiling all its flavours and aromas. These wines are perfect for drinking every day with meals or as an aperitif. WINEMAKING Selected grapes from our own vineyards were carefully hand-harvested. The crushed grapes were subjected to a cold maceration for two days. Then alcoholic fermentation with selected yeasts took place in stainless steel tanks at 27ºC. WINEMAKER'S COMMENTS This is an intense red-coloured wine with violet notes. Complex forest fruit and cherry aromas dominate the bouquet. The palate reveals cassis, tabacco, spices and ripe black plums. The finish is long and balanced. FOOD PAIRINGS This wine pairs well with pasta, different types of cheese, salmon, tuna, chicken, chinese food and seasoned soup.
Belle Ambiance Pinot Grigio 2016Head outdoors and sip this wine as you revel in the sunset with a spring salad and grilled halibut. WINEMAKING Fruit for the Belle Ambiance Pinot Grigio was harvested in the cool hours of the night, delivered to the winery and then immediately pressed into fermenters. A slow, low-temperature fermentation on very low grape solids and aging that took place entirely in stainless steel allowed us to capture all of the delicate fruit and floral aromas that a Pinot Grigio can deliver. TASTING NOTES Delicate floral aromas of lemon blossom, honeysuckle, and jasmine are accented by notes of white peach and juicy pineapple that fram core flavors of sweet honeydew melon, white nectarine and tart lemon. DFJ Vinhos Paxis Red Blend 2013Mr. Dino Ventura, one of DFJ's founders ("D), was one of the most innovative sales and marketing men the UK wine sector ever saw. He looked at all aspects of society to find ideas to apply to promoting Portuguese wine. One day he was watching one of his children playing a very traditional and physical UK game called Bulldog. During the game he heard children saying Paxis as a way to express immunity from being caught. Paxis struck him as an ideal way of expressing those times when we escape from the stress of the world and can appreciate the pleasure a great wine can give. Friend & Farmer Hand Work Red 2017Hand Work is the dream of three brothers, Francisco, Javier and Luis Parra. The hope was to celebrate their home of La Mancha by raising organically and biodynamically grown grapes. When it comes to the winemaking behind Friend and Farmer, they partnered with the exceptional Juan Antonio Ponce of Bodegas Ponce. The Parra brothers work two vineyards near the town of Las Mesas. One is Entresendas (between paths) sitting in a dried river bed. These rich, alluvial soils are perfect for the cultivation of grapes reflecting light and heat and ensuring drainage. The other vineyard is Olla del Monte is perhaps easily represented by its other name: Cuesta Colorá, the colored slope. This gentle slope is covered in chalky clay and a fine layer of pebbles on the surface that capture and radiate the heat of the sun—a key benefit during the desert nights. The Hand Work wines is an USDA organic certified with minimal added sulfites.

Chateau de Lavernette Beaujolais Blanc 2015Grape Variety Chardonnay Winemaking The hand picked grapes were whole-cluster pressed in a gentle pneumatic press and gravity fed to the tank to be cold settled. Separated from the heavy lees by racking, the must ferments at a low temperature in tank to preserve the fruity aromas. The wine remained on its fine lees, finished malo-lactic conversion and has been aged for 5 months before it was estate bottled. Tasting Notes This Beaujolais Blanc is a wine for those in search of immediate pleasure. Fragrant white flowers, full of juicy white fruits, laced with a mineral edge, and balanced by a gossamer acid finish that bewitches and beguiles one’s reason. An untamed dance of seven veils whirls across the palate revealingly and ends with slaked desire. Evodia Garnacha 2016Calatayud is a fairly innocuous and rural region of Spain. As far as the eye can see the hills and plains are blanketed with head-pruned vineyards, primarily Garnacha. Just to the north of Calatayud is Campo de Borja, Navarra and Rioja Baja so this sea of Garnacha is a small part of a wider ocean. Much of the inexpensive and pleasurable Garnacha sold in the US comes from these regions in Spain and Eric Solomon was an early pioneer and proponent. Years ago while working on a project in Calatayud, Eric Solomon met Jean-Marc Lafage and Yolanda Diaz. Yolanda is a native of the region and knows the terruño of Calatayud better than anyone. Jean-Marc is the very talented winemaker and consultant from the Roussillon just across the border in France. Together they "discovered" a unique village in Calatayud, Atea. At 1000 meters above sea level it is the highest elevation village in the whole DO. Even more interesting is that the soil here is black schist, the same soil one can find in the Priorat and in Maury where Jean-Marc owns an estate by the name of Saint-Roch. Domaine LaFage Novellum Chardonnay 2016Someone once made an unflattering comparison between Chardonnay and a part of one's anatomy best left unmentioned, saying, "everyone's got one, no one wants to hear about yours." Sadly Chardonnay is a victim of its own success and frequently a punch line despite being one of the most highly esteemed wines in its guise of Grand Cru Chablis or Montrachet. We are not claiming that Novellum is like these auspicious wines but we will argue that for its price you can hardly find better. For many years we worked with a cooperative in the Languedoc to make Novellum from a special site that in most years had some botrytis, giving the wine weight without resorting to oak. Since that time we've moved the project to the Roussillon where Jean-Marc and Eliane Lafage have some Chardonnay planted near the Mediterranean that makes a remarkably complex and mineral version of the variety. There is no botrytis here so we resort to a small percentage in barrel - usually less than 20%. The remainder of the wine is aged in tank on the lees of Viognier. It remains one of the best values in Chardonnay that you can find. Bremer's March 2017 Staff Pick Bremer’s March staff pick has been chosen by co-owner, Tim Bremer. Pedroncelli Mother Clone Zinfandel 2016Pedroncelli’s historic Zinfandel vineyards are located on the hillsides surrounding the winery, on the ranch originally purchased by John Pedroncelli Sr. in 1927 and planted to Zinfandel since 1904. These vines are head-pruned and hand-picked, a second generation vineyard cloned from the original “Mother” vines which were replanted block by block beginning in the early 1980s. The fruit from the remaining over 100-year-old vines, although a small part, is included. We source three estate sources: the Home Ranch, Bushnell, and Buchigani Vineyard. Tasting Notes Our Mother Clone is a classic Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel with aromas of red and black berries and a touch of warm baking spices. The concentrated flavors of raspberry and blackberry combine with vanilla, toasty oak, pepper and a dash of nutmeg. Cupcake Red Velvet 20152012 Vintage: "A deliciously rich blend of Zinfandel, Merlot, and Petite Sirah, our Red Velvet is made up of grapes from some of the finest vineyards in California. This wine shows a heady nose of chocolate, deep rich blackberries, red fruits, and a creamy mocha finish that is unmistakable in its intensity and length. It's reminiscent of a blackberry chocolate cupcake with a mocha coulis. Enjoy with sweet and spicy Hoison steak, a barbeque bacon cheeseburger or even dark chocolate fondue.
