La Bastarda Pinot Grigio 2016
It’s the vinification technique that gives the wine its zesty personality. The grapes are harvested at the perfect moment when they’re ripe and fruity but before they’ve become too sweet and lost their natural acidity.
After the grapes are whisked to the winery, they’re gently pressed and the juice goes into stainless steel tanks where the fermentation proceeds under closely controlled temperatures that don’t exceed 55 degrees F. That safeguards the fruity flavors and aromas in the finished wine.
Light straw yellow in color with a greenish tinge. The wine has a rich nose, with apple, pear and tropical fruit notes. On the palate it is fresh with lively acidity and a crisp finish.
