Baker's 107 Bourbon 7 year old
From the original recipe by Baker Beam, grand nephew of Jim Beam, this is a bourbon of surprising mellow richness despite its proof. A good amount of fruit flavors mingle with toasted nuts and vanilla, creating a bourbon some say is as smooth and pleasing as a fine Cognac.

Whisky AdvocateRich, multi-layered nose; vanilla, cornmeal, berries (black raspberries, wineberries), and broad-shouldered oak. Powerful, but not overproof hot in the month; controlled. Mature, complete bourbon with a 7 year age statement, and a real sleeper in the Small Batch Collection. - LB
Wine EnthusiastOpening nosings detect concentrated, litchi nut, deep-roasted grain scents; aroma turns baked, buttery, oaky and almost brandy-like with aeration. Palate entry is integrated, sweet, and slightly peppery; at midpalate there's a sweet oak/vanilla rush that backs off prior to the finish, leaving behind taste traces of spirity heat, vanilla extract, cake frosting, butter cream and resin. Evokes thoughts of Cognac, in particular, from the Borderies district. Best Buy.
